Buying Disposable Gloves

Genuine PPE has a wide range of disposable gloves for all uses. If you are new to buying disposable gloves you should make sure that the gloves you are looking for are fit for the use as not all disposable gloves provide the same level of protection and they have different uses when it comes to medical, food preparation and chemicals etc. For all our certified products you will find the relevant EN number on the product page, you can also search for the EN number you are after in the search bar at the top of the page.

Types of Disposable Gloves

Buying disposable gloves can sometimes be a bit of a minefield. To help you select the best gloves for your needs, our disposable gloves come in 3 main materials which are detailed below. Within each of these categories there will be further options, such as medical grade disposable gloves.

Medical Grade Disposable Gloves

Medical-grade disposable gloves, or exam gloves as they are also called, require a AQL level of 2.5 and below. The AQL is basically the number of gloves per batch that fail testing. These disposable gloves are suitable for use in medical, dental, beauty and tattooing industries where biological hazards, like blood, is a risk.

Nitrile Gloves

Nitrile gloves are made from synthetic rubber and are ideal for anyone that is allergic to latex. They are strong, form fitting and ideal for medical use, food preparation and even chemicals. See our range of nitrile gloves.

Disposable Vinyl Gloves

Disposable vinyl gloves are the cheapest type of disposable gloves. They can come in medical grade but they have a looser fit so they aren't suitable for tasks that s require precision. They are best suited to shorter tasks as you will need to change them frequently.

Latex Gloves

Latex gloves have been used across the medical industry for many years, but with the growing number of allergies (about 6% of the population), they are not suitable for everyone. If you work with many different people, there’s a chance anyone of them could have an allergy to latex so in that case Nitrile gloves would be best. If you don’t come into contact with people and you are not allergic to latex, these gloves are a strong, reliable choice.
